Psystar clones the Mac

This I found via Macrumors. Psystar Corporation releases an Apple Mac clone, dubbed the Open Computer, which supposedly can run Leopard on a hardware platform that costs just $399.

I smell the stench of a lawsuit coming.

I wonder: How reliable is the machine? And how reliable is the support?  I moved from a Windows to a Mac because I spent too much time tinkering with the machine and cleaning up the junk in my shared family PC.    When one’s time is money, one should spend more time in actual productive work than in fixing the computer.  To use the well-worn automobile analogy, I felt that I was spending too much time tuning and cleaning the car rather than getting to my destination.

I wish they Apple wouldn’t smack them with a lawsuit. I truly wish to wait and see if this Open Computer can deliver the goods. It is a win-win situation for the consumer. If Peystar’s baby fails, then it is vindication for Apple; if it doesn’t, then Apple has to rethink it’s pricing strategy.
