Getting iPod Touch Applications

Filipinos sporting the iPod Touch can also avail of the applications available through the iTunes Apps store.

First of all, you should point your iTunes to the Philippines site. Launch iTunes, go to the iTunes Store, scroll to the bottom, and then point the My Store to Philippines.

Next, create your iTunes account. Finally, you can now enter a Philippine-based credit card number.

You will also need to upgrade your iPod Touch to the latest firmware, which at the time of this post, is version 2.0. Here’s the link for version 2.0. It costs $9.95 and “includes many enhancements for Mail, Contact, and Calendars, as well as support for MobileMe, Microsoft Exchange Active Sync, new languages, a scientific calculator, and more. This update also includes all January Software Update applications and features.”

Once that is done, you can proceed to download the many free applications that are available through the iTunes Store.
