Reclaiming disk space with OmniDiskSweeper
I just discovered that I had less than 2 GB of space left in my Macbook Pro. I thought that I kept my disk space lean and mean so I ran Xslimmer and it only recovered a meager 120MB.
Well, thanks to a TUAW’s blog post, I was pointed to OmniDiskSweeper. And it promptly alerted me that I had some old movie files left—a 6.9 GB DVD-ripped copy of Christopher Nolan’s Memento (which I wanted to watch in my iPod Touch during my idle time) and a couple of EyeTV-recorded episodes of CSI.
So instead of spending probably an inordinate amount of time searching for humongous files, I ended up getting back close to 11 GB of space in mere minutes with OmniDiskSweeper!
